Ongoing Projects

  • Running Targeted Intervention Programs under Telangana State AIDS Control Society (TSACS) and National AIDS Control Program (NACO).
  • HIV Self-Testing  program under the Accelerate-USAID program

Since 2021 as part of the HIV prevention strategy Accelerate supported HIV self-testing services for the high-risk population. HIV self-testing is an acceptable, safe, accurate, and effective way to reach people who are at risk for HIV. Primarily, key populations are at risk of HIV including men who have same-sex with men, women in sex work, transgender, and people who inject drugs. The key population was covered by both physical visits at various hotspots and online through dating apps.

  • PrEP initiating program under the Accelerate-USAID program

As part of preventive strategies PrEP, or pre-exposure prophylaxis service was launched in 2021 for the prevention of HIV infection among high-risk groups. Accelerate aided by USAID is providing PrEP at a subsidized price and the procedures needed for PrEp initiation are completed at a reasonable price.  Targeted populations such as MSMs, Sero-discordant couples, IDUs, and other groups of people are at higher risk of HIV. They are reached through physical visits at hotspots and ART centers, and online via different dating apps. At ART centers PrEP had been prescribed to serodiscordant couples to plan a safe pregnancy with successful results.

  • Link ART services under the Accelerate-USAID program.
  • KOSHISH project supported by TNP plus

The project facilitates the testing of women for cervical cancer. In the last two years, the project has reached out to 780 women. Also screened community members from high-risk groups and referred them to government hospitals for further treatment. The project also promotes awareness of self-hygiene and safe sex practices among marginal communities. This initiative facilitates regular internal examinations for female sex workers.
