Our Core Area Work
DARPAN with committed grassroots practitioners and development professionals keen to promote the overall social, economic, and health status of vulnerable communities like MSM and TG/Hijra population. In the last two decades, the organization has been engaged in supporting various initiatives designed by and for the community with the support of various government departments, international and national donors, and corporate foundations. Over the year the strategies and activities of DARPAN have advanced in view of health rights, social inclusion, and leadership. The foundation has contributed a lot in advancing shared practice by documenting issues and concerns related to marginal communities. Also developed different communication and programme related tools on how to engage with MSM and TGs/Hijras communities.
The organization currently implementing targeted intervention projects with 2 drop-in centers in the twin-city of Hyderabad and Secunderabad and covering 6000 MSM and TG/Hijras with integrated service delivery. The community also benefited from complemented services like ART medicine delivery at door steps. Proudly, the foundation has been selected to implement the first-ever Big City Model Intervention Project in India under TSACS-NACO.
